• Our work

Eurodiaconia links diaconal actors to examine social needs, develop ideas and influence policies impacting Poverty and Social Exclusion, Social and Health Care Services and the Future of Social Europe.

Eurodiaconia also provides a platform for transnational networking and best practice sharing.

  • Our vision

As the leading network for diaconal work in Europe, we look to develop dialogue and partnership between members and influence and engage with the wider society.  We do this to enable inclusion, care and empowerment of the most vulnerable and excluded and ensure dignity for all.

  • Our goals

We aim to see a positive social change in Europe through:

Praxis, enabling membership engagement and partnerships

Advocacy, creating a network of competence to impact policies at European and national level

Human Ring against poverty

12 october 2010

On the 19th of November, the EAPN is organising a Human Ring around the European Parliament to demonstrate it's commitment together with the European institutions to combat poverty in Europe.

84 million people in the EU – or 16% of the population, and 19% of the children – are currently at risk of poverty, since they live on an income below 60% of the median household income of their own country. Through the Human Ring, the EAPN want to encourage as many people as possible to take a stand for a credible response to the crisis focused on solidarity and social justice.

Come and stand alongside us on Friday the 19th of November between 12:15h and 13h at the Esplanade infront of the European Parliament. The planning for the Ring is as follows:
12:15h gather at the meeting points
12:30h the ring joins up from all the 5 meeting points - follow the ribbon!
13:00h everyone gathers back at the Esplanade (close to Place Luxembourg) infront of the European Parliament for some music and messages on poverty and social exclusion
