• Our work

Eurodiaconia links diaconal actors to examine social needs, develop ideas and influence policies impacting Poverty and Social Exclusion, Social and Health Care Services and the Future of Social Europe.

Eurodiaconia also provides a platform for transnational networking and best practice sharing.

  • Our vision

As the leading network for diaconal work in Europe, we look to develop dialogue and partnership between members and influence and engage with the wider society.  We do this to enable inclusion, care and empowerment of the most vulnerable and excluded and ensure dignity for all.

  • Our goals

We aim to see a positive social change in Europe through:

Praxis, enabling membership engagement and partnerships

Advocacy, creating a network of competence to impact policies at European and national level

Identity and values, supporting the development of approaches and thinking on Diaconia in Europe today

How we work

As the leading diaconal network in Europe, Eurodiaconia links diaconal actors to examine social needs, develop ideas and influence policies impacting Poverty and Social Exclusion, Social and Health Care Services and the Future of Social Europe.

Our members are at the heart of everything we do. They set the strategic direction of the organisation at our Annual General Meeting which is organised once a year in April or May and our elected Supervisory Board meets four times a year to develop our vision. Our Secretariat leads the implementation of the strategy through engaging with the European institutions, with our members and with our partners.

Eurodiaconia looks to enable membership engagement through our 5 different networks: Faith in Social Care, Healthy Ageing and Elderly Care, Roma, People in Diaconia, Marginalisation and Social Exclusion. We also have a virtual Communications network where we explore communications in diaconia and facilitate best practice sharing. We create competence to impact social policies through seminars, conferences, study visits and network meetings. We provide diaconal actors opportunities to relfect on Diaconia in Europe today and the difference faith in social care can make.
