    Eurodiaconia links diaconal actors to examine social needs, develop ideas and influence policies impacting Poverty and Social Exclusion, Social and Health Care Services and the Future of Social Europe.

    Eurodiaconia also provides a platform for transnational networking and best practice sharing.

    As the leading network for diaconal work in Europe, we look to develop dialogue and partnership between members and influence and engage with the wider society.  We do this to enable inclusion, care and empowerment of the most vulnerable and excluded and ensure dignity for all.

    Praxis, enabling membership engagement and partnerships

    Advocacy, creating a network of competence to impact policies at European and national level

    Identity and values, supporting the development of approaches and thinking on Diaconia in Europe today

Koalition für das Europäische Jahr 2012 veröffentlicht Manifest für eine Gesellschaft aller Altersgruppen

Die Koalition für das Europäische Jahr 2012 für Aktives Altern und die Solidarität zwischen den Generationen hat ein „Manifest für eine altersfreundliche Europäische Union“ veröffentlicht.  Es stellt in zehn allgemeine Empfehlungen an die EU und die Stakeholder vor, wie die EU bis zum Jahr 2020 mit einem den gesamten Lebenszyklus umfassenden Ansatz altersfreundlich gestaltet werden kann. Diese politische Erklärung soll die Stakeholder ermutigen, den mit dem Europäischen Jahr 2012 geschaffenen Impuls dazu zu nutzen, auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene Partnerschaften zu gründen, um aktives Altern und die Solidarität zwischen den Generationen zu fördern.

Zusammen mit einem Brief, der dazu aufruft, die Empfehlungen der Koalition zu unterstützen, wurde das Dokument an die EU-Mitgliedsstaaten geschickt, die an der Vorbereitung und Durchführung des Europäischen Jahres 2012 beteiligt sind (Polen, Dänemark, Zypern).
