In the last weeks, the European Commission opened for applications three calls for proposals under the “Rights, Equality & Citizenship” (REC) programme. The calls are aimed at preventing and tackling racism, xenophobia, hate speech and other forms of intolerance.
The calls, published the last January within a wider set under the REC programme, address both to public authorities and private organisations. They are all targeted to different forms of intolerance and more specifically:

- “Prevent and combat racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance” (budget € 4.000.000, deadline 4h October 2018)
- “Monitor, prevent and counter hate speech online” (budget € 1.500.000, deadline 11h October 2018).
