Recently, the European Commission has published a call for proposals under the Horizon 2020 programme called “addressing radicalisation through social inclusion”, which will accept proposals starting on the 5th of November,
Proposals should assess the multiple drivers and manifestations of radical ideologies prone to incite or lead to violence, both societal (including religious) and political, as well as the physical and online contexts for their propagation.
The ultimate goal of the call is to increase awareness and resilience in at-risk individuals and introduce preventive, countering and de-radicalisation approaches to make sure these vulnerable groups are included in society.
Eurodiaconia’s members provide social services in Europe which also focus on the inclusion of young people and on preventing radicalisation and social exclusion. Our upcoming Urban Area Network Meeting in Oslo next week will also feature presentations from specialists working on violent extremism prevention among youth. Make sure to follow our social media channels to read the event report.
