With the European Commission’s consultation process on the content of a future ‘European Pillar of Social Rights’ still ongoing, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has now published a study on ‘Building a social pillar for European convergence’. The study explores the current state of play concerning socio-economic convergence and divergence in Europe, the role of EU policies and institutions in stimulating upward convergence, and key policy avenues for ensuring positive change.
