The initiative serves as both a community building activity and a source of personal protection equipment for Diaconia’s staff in times of global pandemic. The facility where the workshop takes place offers short-term shelter for women victims of trafficking in human cargo and asylum seekers who are undergoing formal administrative procedures for gaining an official refugee status in the country.
Additionally, the shelter offers women a safe place to stay after the traumatic events that they had been through and the company of other women with similar experiences who provide understanding and comfort. In such positive and productive environment women have the opportunity to heal, connect and build plans for their better tomorrow.
