COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the entire European continent leaving no one untouched, the new reality has obliged people to adapt their lives to accommodate the changes. Throughout the crisis, our members have been offering front line services to the elderly, families and children, persons experiencing poverty, Roma, migrants and refugees, persons without homes, health care, and employment through its social enterprises
Eurodiaconia members see the social, economic, health, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs faced by people daily whilst they operate at the forefront in confronting the impact of COVID-19. Throughout the pandemic, our members have continued to provide services, despite the diverse challenges. We held a series of online meetings on a variety of topics to understand the reality of the situation in those countries where our members are present. Together with our members, Eurodiaconia will continue its advocacy work to ensure that the EU recovery plan benefits the poor and vulnerable and no one is left behind in the process.
Also, we will continue to report on the socio-economic impact of the crisis as it develops. If you wish to receive further information on this topic, please contact our Policy and Membership Development Officer Kewan Mildred at kewan.mildred@eurodiaconia.org.
