Diaconia Espana launches crowdfunding campaign for its ‘new home’ project

Our member in Spain, Diaconia Espana (Diaconia Spain) has launched an online fundraising campaign to fund new home for migrants and refugees arriving in Spain.

The project stems from the increasing number of people who find themselves forced to abandon their homes as a result of war, political or economic situations that threaten their daily lives, those of their children, families and loved ones.

Spain agreed to welcome more than 17,000 people, providing a safe space for people far from the difficulties they were facing, and in the hope of leading a more safe and secure future. The journey itself is arduous, however further challenges often await those arriving in a foreign land.

The ‘new home’ project that Diaconia and its members is leading, has already begun supporting more than 200 refugees. They call on people to offer their support through action and not just words. The project aims to not only give people the opportunities, but also the tools to help them start again and to face the challenges of adapting to a new place.

Diaconia Espana is asking for support by participating in its crowdfunding campaign, the proceeds of which will fund the setting up of welcome homes, buying school supplies, sanitary products and much more.

More information on the project can be found on the Diaconia Espana website,

and donations can be made by visiting the crowdfunding page.
