Our member in Serbia, Ekumenska Humanitarna Organizacija (the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organisation, or EHO) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a school for its inclusion in education project. EHO is celebrating the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding signed between itself and the school “Dimitrije Todorović Kaplar” in Knjaževac, one of many schools involved in the two-year project “Support to the education of socially deprived children and young people in Serbia”. This project is being carried out with the financial support of Brot für die Welt from Germany. The memorandum was signed by director Milan Djordjevic on behalf of the school, while on behalf of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, this was done by director Tilda Gyenge-Slifka.

It is the hope of both parties that this new agreement will allow for closer cooperation between both sides and an indication of their common goal of making education inclusive and available to children from all backgrounds. The goal of the project is to improve the chances and successes in the education of socially deprived children and young people in 10 local communities throughout Serbia. With this project, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization wants to support the efforts of schools and local communities to achieve positive personal, social and economic changes by investing in the education of underprivileged children. You can learn more about the project on EHO’s website.
