Our Serbian member Ekumenska Humanitarna Organizacija, in cooperation with Diakonia Württemberg and partners from Slovakia and Romania, has launched a new project to support Roma communities in the Danube region.
The project, titled “With and For Roma in the Danube Region”, aims to enable the participating parties to exchange experiences, knowledge and examples of best practices in working with Roma.
The initiative consists of three phases:
- Capacity building in Roma villages to prevent domestic violence in the region of Sibiu, Romania
- Educational measures to combat poverty in the Roma settlement of Rankovce in Slovakia
- Counseling and information on Roma mobility in Stuttgart
The project is a part of a long-term partnership between the Diocese of Württemberg and the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and is implemented with the financial support of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) programme.
