Private_home_careEurodiaconia has produced a set of Guidelines on Homecare Services to emphasize some key messages which are necessary to render homecare better and more accessible to users of diaconal social services. Eurodiaconia member organisations are committed to delivering community-based services which link care recipients to their families, friends and communities. In this context, homecare represents a promising way to provide health and social services to a large number of users who wish to retain their independence within their home settings.

These guidelines got input and feedback from members of the Healthy Ageing and Long-Term Care Network and they stress a number of key points which should be taken into account by policy makers at both EU and Member State levels, contracting authorities, service providers and users to release the full potential of homecare and boost its quality level. Specific focus is given to the areas of service provision, integration of services, staff and funding.
