Abstract Men and Woman Heads with gears and LightBulb iconsEurodiaconia, together with MEP Tomáš Zdechovský (EPP), is inviting policy makers, care providers and other stakeholders, to discuss challenges and recommendations associated with the investment and the provision of social services in Europe.

The breakfast meeting titled “Investing in Quality Social Services for Sustainable Care in Europe – Recommendations for the new European Parliament and European Commission” tackles important challenges facing the implementation of the quality social services as part of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR).

The event will count with the participation of the vice-chair of the EMPL committee in the European Parliament Tomáš Zdechovský (EPP, CZ), the Head of Unit for modernisationof social protection systems Ana-Carla Pereira (DG EMPL) as well as Elisabetta Gualmini MEP (S&D, IT), and Eurodiaconia’s Secretary General Heather Roy. Representatives from Eurodiaconia’s member Slezská diakonie (Czech Republic) will present a newly developed handbook on quality in social service provision carried out in cooperation with Eurodiaconia and supported by Erasmus +. Representatives from AGE Platform will complete the view of civil society for fruitful dialogue with the European Institutions.

We invite all interested stakeholders to register for this insightful event bringing together a plurality of voices from institutions and civil society to discuss the challenges and offer recommendations for the new European Parliament and the new European Commission on well-financed, high-quality, and sustainable service provision at European and National level.
