WEBINAR - Access to Quality Employment for People in Vulnerable Situations

Date(s) - 10/11/2021
10:00 am - 11:30 am

Where do we stand, more than a year after the European Commission adopted the new European Skills Agenda? Does it deliver on putting into practice the first principle of the European Pillar of Social Rights: access to education, training, and lifelong learning for everybody, everywhere in the EU for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness, and resilience?

In practice, Eurodiaconia members’ commitment to skills is reflected in their provision of work integration services for unemployed persons, youth, persons experiencing poverty and social exclusion, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, persons with disabilities, and other groups of people for whom skilling interventions pave the way for work inclusion.

During the webinar, we will launch and present our new policy paper as basis for discussion, provide an overview of recent and ongoing European initiatives on how to develop skills, and discuss some of the remaining key challenges and gaps in legislation that make it difficult for people in precarious situations to access quality employment. We are happy to have Ana Carla Pereira, Employment and Social Adviser in the Team of European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit as well as Katrin Langensiepen, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs in the European Parliament amongst our confirmed speakers.

Please register here and access the agenda.
