On 12th and 13th of April, Eurodiaconia held a training workshop on EU funding and project management, hosted by our member VšĮ Liuteronų Diakonija in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The aim of the event was to give participants better knowledge of EU funding instruments and programmes, and to enhance their capacity in the area of project management. The participants came from our member organisations in Lithuania, Latvia and Serbia.

On the first day, the workshop introduced Eurodiaconia‘s structure and its project work, and presented basic project management approaches and methods. The group also took part in a “visualization” exercise to help them developing or creating social projects.

On the second day, the Eurodiaconia project team gave an overview of EU funding instruments within the current Multiannual Financial Framework. This overview also included a more in-depth look at specific funding programmes such as Erasmus+, the European Social Fund, and the Employment and Social Innovation programme, as well as concrete examples of past and current projects from the Eurodiaconia network. Furthermore, the Eurodiaconia Funding Toolkit and additional guidelines for project applications were presented.

Throughout the workshop, participants had the chance to get involved with interactive activities to deepen their knowledge and skills of funding and project management, as well as to practice working with EU calls for proposals and funding documents.

We look forward to future training and learning opportunities to enhance the knowledge, exchange and capacity building of our members: the next EU Funding and Project Management Workshop will take place in Budapest (Hungary) from 15-16 November.
