Last November, our Slovak member Evanjelická diakonia ECAV na Slovensku (Evangelical Diaconia in Slovakia) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a big concert under the patronage of the President of the Slovak Republic Mr. Andrej Kiska.
The event was hosted in the Evangelical Church „Veľký kostol“ in the capital Bratislava and saw the participations of staff members, local politicians and friends of Evangelical Diaconia in Slovakia. The ceremony was officially opened by Bratislava Vice-Mayor Iveta Plšeková and ECAV Director Ján Gasper who focused on the history and important activities run by Diaconia in Slovak’s centres, as well as the founding values of diaconia.
During the ceremony three employees of Evangelical Diaconia in Slovakia have been awarded with the Golden Diaconal Emblem by Bishop Miloš Klátik, the Head of the executive board of Evangelical Diaconia in Slovakia Mrs. Jana Tomašovičová and Mr. Ján Gasper.
