The German Red Cross, the Central Welfare Office of Jews in Germany, the Workers’ Welfare Association, the German Joint Welfare Association and our member Diaconia Germany have launched an initiative to show their solidarity towards asylum seekers arriving in Germany, through the broadcasting of bracelets with the words “Welcome” or “Refugees Welcome”.
Despite the great number of refugees to host, this bracelet wants to make visible the great number of German citizens committed to receiving and helping them integrate into the German society.
Each bracelet is sold 5 euros. This sum benefits projects and social services that provide assistance to refugees. They can be bought here: diakonie.de/shop
Once you have a bought the bracelet, Diaconia Germany invites you to post a photo of you wearing it and a personal message on Facebook (facebook.com/diakonie) or Twitter (#Willkommensband).
