On April the 25th, Petofi Aszódi Lutheran High School, in cooperation with USC Shoah Foundation and Zachor Foundation, presents the project ‘’Virtual meeting with survivors and witnesses’’.
The project will give students, teachers and witnesses a unique opportunity to gather together to learn more about the history of the Jewish community in the region, and to share life experiences and historical documents. The initiative is aimed at presenting the cultural and economic contribution of the local Jewish community to the city, as well as to understand and prevent old and new forms of antisemitism among young people.
Since its foundation, Petofi Aszódi Lutheran High School, run by our member Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary, has opened its doors to the Jewish community, and it sadly saw several students deported to Auschwitz during the II WW.
