Earlier last month, Fresco VI International festival for modern art and spiritual films started in Yerevan, where during 6 days the city and its surrounding regions hosted events, discussions and screenings exploring spiritual issues and Armenia’s rich cultural heritage.
The festival is supported by our Armenian member the WCC Armenia Round Table and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. FRESCO festival is an annual event promoting cultural dialogue between peoples from different countries, as well as an opportunity to reflect on Armenian national consciousness.
This year, 37 films from more than 10 countries are featured in this important annual recurrence that may very well become a flagship event for Armenia, as the number of participants has been increasing at a steady pace. What is more, the festival is open to people from disadvantaged backgrounds and people with disabilities as they can participate in the running and organisation of the festival, being part of the more than 200 volunteers making the happening possible.
In this regard, Eurodiaconia is currently conducting a research project among its members on their work on youth inclusion, of which the results will be published on our website towards the end of the year.
