Eurodiaconia Engages the Next EU Multiannual Financial Framework

Eurodiaconia pushes for the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework to be socially ambitious
Eurodiaconia is fully engaged in the building of the next MFF

The long-term EU budget is a key concern for Eurodiaconia members as it sets out the funding priorities of the EU and the programmes that will be available in the coming period. Eurodiaconia members access EU funding to drive social innovation, expand the reach of their social and healthcare services, and respond to the current and emerging needs of vulnerable and marginalised communities and groups.

Eurodiaconia is fully engaged in the building of the next MFF through its joint work with civil society, EU policy actors and various institutions at the European level on the key principles and features of the next MFF based on the ambitions of the European Pillar of Social Rights. It has outlined its main findings and key recommendations to managing authorities and the European Commission on the use of EU funds through a monitoring report on Erasmus+, AMIF and European Solidarity Corps and a report on the ESF+ and Social Climate Fund.

As part of these crucial initiatives, Eurodiaconia is holding an online members’ meeting on the next EU budget and funding for diaconal work in Europe on 16 May, 10:00-12:00 CET, complementing a members’ briefing paper on the MFF process and state of play. Eurodiaconia is also participating in the European Commission’s Public Consultation to build a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that reflects European strategic priorities.
