In October, Eurodiaconia held a discussion in the European Parliament on social service challenges in urban areas from a Nordic perspective. In order to discuss the topic, Eurodiaconia invited members from Nordic countries as well as stakeholders from the European Parliament, European Commission and regional offices of Nordic countries. Eurodiaconia members as well as Members from the European Parliament stressed weak social protection for vulnerable people, including migrants, elderly people, and people with disabilities, to be a major issue in addressing poverty in urban areas.
