Eurodiaconia is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Social and Health Care Services Network Meeting hosted by our member, Diakonia Austria, on the 6th & 7th of October in Vienna, Austria!
The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on the challenges within the long-term care (LTC) sector. On one side chronic underfunding has led to staff shortages and insufficient availability of affordable and quality care services, while at the same time Europe’s population is ageing increasing care demands. As a result, the European Commission has placed care on the top of its policy priorities, starting with the launch of the European Care Strategy on September 7th. This groundbreaking strategy calls for boosting access to quality, affordable and accessible care services and improving working conditions for caregivers.
Therefore, Eurodiaconia’s Social and Health Care Services Network Meeting will look at this new instrument from the care providers perspective and key measures to mitigate the impact of demographic change on long-term care services whilst ensuring people receive the care they want and need. For more information or if you have any questions, please get in touch with our Policy and membership development officer Kewan Mildred at kewan.mildred@eurodiaconia.org.
