On September 14 and 15, Eurodiaconia Member, Kerk in Actie (Church in Action), are organising four online workshops as part of their ‘Give Light’ Christmas campaign. Based in The Netherlands, the initiative is intended for church members and members of the mission committee and aims to provide them with useful tools and techniques on how to support refugee children in Greece from their own congregation and/or municipality.

Kerk in Actie will take action in the coming Advent and Christmas period, as the situation for refugee children in Greece remains urgent. Tens of thousands of children wait for years, often without their families, to find out whether they have been granted with leave to remain. “There is a lack of absolutely everything,” says consultant Menno Hanse. “Clean drinking water, medicines and sanitation. That is why we are once again taking action and passing on the hope of Advent.”

At Eurodiaconia, many of our Members work to support the social inclusion of migrants and refugees; helping them to access social and healthcare benefits as well as developing new initiatives in order to foster and promote local integration.
