Looking at Eurodiaconia members’ involvement in the European Semester and at the social situation in Europe, we urge the European Commission to work more actively toward a rebalancing of social and economic priorities. This is why Eurodiaconia sent yesterday a letter to Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Euro and Social Dialogue. The letter recognises efforts being undertaken such as the ongoing consultation on a European Pillar of Social Rights, and calls for a stronger emphasis on the fight against poverty, social exclusion and inequality.
