A position paper on the financing of social services was adopted by the Social Platform in December 2014 and it is now available for download here.
The aim of this paper is to provide recommendations that identify the key elements for a policy framework that ensures sustainable financing for social services. Another aim is to help clarify the different roles the public, private and voluntary sectors should play to ensure this sustainable financing.
Eurodiaconia contributed to the discussions of the task force that drafted the paper and will continue to work on the topic of financing, examining the potential role of private finance in the social sector, as well as different forms of contracting and financing of social services by public funding.
