Early this week, two new calls for project proposals under the Justice Programme (JUST) were opened for applications. The calls will finance projects aimed at fostering judicial cooperation as well as enhancing the rights of victims of crime.
The first call for proposals is focused on supporting national and transnational projects to promote judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters. The budget available for this call is EUR 5.685.000 and the deadline is set on 16h April 2019.
The second call (budget available EUR 3.600.000, deadline 15th May 2019) is aimed at supporting transnational projects to enhance the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime and the rights of victims of crime.
The Justice Programme – directly managed by the European Commission – is aimed at financing projects that directly contribute to the Commission’s priority “An area of Justice and Fundamental Rights Based on Mutual Trust”. The activities to be financed in 2019 – mainly recurring activities, and to a smaller extent also new ones – will have to be carried out by public authorities, universities, NGOs and other organisations.
