MHFor those members who attended the Annual General Meeting this year, Massimo Aquilante, president of the Federation of the Protestant Churches in Italy, introduced us to the Mediterranean Hope project, which aims at supporting migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea.

Mediterranean Hope lies on three pillars: an observatory based in the island of Lampedusa (the outpost of the southern migration flows), the house of cultures in Scicli, Sicily, and a relocation desk providing “Welcome Kits”. This project comprises actions to welcome and orientate migrants, events to raise awareness of the Italian opinion on their appalling living conditions, and advocacy to promote humanitarian corridors.
