Earlier this week, the European Commission released a thematic note on the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative support to migrants.

This report analyses the support of the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) in the 2014-2020 programming period to migrants, people with a foreign background and different minorities (including marginalised communities such as the Roma).

The new publication looks at how migrants are addressed in the ESF Operational Programmes and how the ESF contributes to reaching the EU 2020 targets for the integration of migrants.

Migration is a global phenomenon that impacts on every part of society. At Eurodiaconia, we focus on the social inclusion of migrants through access to social and health care services, including access to the labour market.

On the 3rd of December, Eurodiaconia will organise a roundtable with partner civil society organisations aimed at increasing awareness of the need to develop stronger links between civil society and business sector for more effective integration of migrants into the labour market. The roundtable will also be an opportunity to discuss the challenges, showcase some best practice examples and put together ideas of future partnership developments.
