The European Commission launched three new call for proposals under the Horizon Europe programme.
First proposal
The call is titled: “Access to health and care services for people in vulnerable situations (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-CARE-04-04-two-stage)”. This topic aims at supporting activities that are enabling or contributing to “Ensuring access to innovative, sustainable and high-quality health care”. The proposals should lead to the following outcomes: 1. Decision- and policymakers, service providers, and health and care workers have better availability to and make use of knowledge on barriers to access to health and care services experienced by people in vulnerable situations and at risk of stigma. 2. Decision- and policymakers, providers and health and care workers have access to innovative solutions to promote and improve access to health and care services for people in vulnerable situations. 3. Decision-and policymakers and providers have access to reliable quantitative data on health inequalities in access to health and care services for people in vulnerable situations. 4. People in vulnerable situations are better equipped in terms of health and digital literacy, knowledge about their rights etc. when it comes to access to health and care services. 5. People in vulnerable situations are involved in the design and implementation of research and innovation activities concerning access to health and care services.
This is a two stages call for proposals: the first deadline for the concept note is on the 19th of September 2023. The second deadline for the full application is on the 11th of April 2024. For more information, please visit the Commission’s website.
Second proposal
The call is titled: “The European Social Innovation Competition 2023 (HORIZON-EIC-2023-EUSIC-PRIZES-04)”. The European Social Innovation Competition 2023 will focus on ‘Fighting energy poverty’ – Repower EU. The European Social Innovation Competition 2023 will support proposed solutions coming from social innovators to fight energy poverty in the broadest sense. Therefore, proposed solutions can focus for example on aspects related to monitoring, awareness raising, specific target groups, pricing models, production, consumption and energy savings, renovations, energy community and joint investments, or investments among others. In this context, social innovations could result in a new or adapted service or business model or technologic development. The competition will look for technological and non-technological social innovations. The competition will have a particular focus on breakthrough, market-creating and deep-tech innovations embracing the objectives of this year’s edition, which will contribute to fighting energy poverty and, consequently, will have a positive impact on citizens’ lives and local prosperity.
The deadline is the 30th of May 2023. For more information, please visit the Commission’s website.
Third proposal
This call is titled: “Towards a holistic support to children and adolescents’ health and care provisions in an increasingly digital society (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-STAYHLTH-01-02-two-stage)”. This topic aims at supporting activities that are enabling or contributing to “Staying healthy in a rapidly changing society”. To that end, proposals under this topic should aim for delivering results that are directed at, tailored towards and contributing to all of the following expected outcomes: 1. Children, adolescents and their parents/carers are educated and empowered in prevention strategies involving personalised approaches and solutions (also through the use of digital tools) to manage, maintain and improve children’s and adolescents’ own health, physical activity, nutrition habits, leisure needs, mental and social well-being, in full respect of the privacy of individuals. 2. Children and adolescents, including those from vulnerable contexts, monitor their health risks, adopt healthy lifestyles at home, at school and in the community and interact with their doctors and carers (receiving and providing feedback), also through the means of digitally enabled solutions, better health literacy, training and critical thinking. 3. Thanks to better co-creation, training, digital and health literacy, children, adolescents, parents and carers across Europe access and use person-centred, widely available solutions for children and adolescents’ health, care and wellbeing, appropriate to a rapidly changing and increasingly digitalised society, also considering the risk of digital addiction.
This is a two stages call for proposals: the first deadline for the concept note is on the 19th of September 2023. The second deadline for the full application is on the 11th of April 2024. For more information, please visit the Commission’s website.
