eur elec 2014The European elections will take place next week, starting on 22nd May!

As each member state has its own electoral laws, each member state decides on what day the elections will take place during the four-day election period from 22 to 25 May 2014. In all countries but the exeption of 7 (United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ireland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Malta and Latvia), the elections will take place on Sunday 25th May. The results from all 28 states will be announced on the evening of Sunday 25 May.

Eurodiaconia created  a website and a European Elections toolkit to facilitate its members understanding and engagement in the elections. Because these elections are a special opportunity to “connect” with Europe, to engage and step into the debate, Eurodiaconia worked with its partners to support Churches, Christian organisations and Christians living to discuss with candidates their vision of the European Union and its future.

If you would like to share your experience of the elections, if you have any questions or comments, please contact us!

After the elections, please help us to identify new contacts in the European Parliament. If you know of some newly elected MEPs to be potentially open to the work and voice of Eurodiaconia, please contact  clotilde.clark-foulquier@eurodiaconia.org. Thank you!
