DSC_0086From the 15th to the 17th of April, our member Liuteronu Diakonija (Lithuania Lutheran Diaconia) held the Meeting of Diaconal Employees.

The three-day conference was hosted in Palanga (LT), and gathered together people working for Liuteronu Diakonija across the country. It was led by Deaconess Grace Rao, director of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Deaconess Ministry (LCMS).

The LCMS is a mission-oriented and Bible based organisation reflecting the teachings of Martin Luther. Today it has more than 2.3 million baptised members in more than 6,100 congregations and more than 9,000 pastors. Two seminaries and 10 colleges and universities operate under the auspices of the LCMS, and its congregations operate the largest Protestant parochial school system in the US. Along with its mission to make known the love of Christ, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is committed to helping people around the world in a multitude of ways, and it contributes to several Liuteronu Diakonija projects.

The meeting in Palanga offered participants opportunities to build networks of expertise and shared interest, but most importantly it was the chance to rediscover the Joy of Meditating on God’s Word and the Lutheran essence.
