On Wednesday 29 of June, our Serbian member Ekumenska Humanitarna Organizacija (Ecumenical Humanitarian Organisation-EHO) welcomed a delegation of the Embassy of Germany to the Republic of Serbia led by its Secretary for Economic Cooperation Jürgen Schmid. Representatives from the German Development Agency and Development Bank also joined the delegation.
The study visit gave EHO a chance to present its projects on Roma people across the country. A special emphasis was given to Participatory working methodology in the improvement of housing conditions in substandard Roma settlements. The day continued with a visit to the project sites Adice in Novi Sad, and Veliki in Vojka (municipality of Stara Pazova).
In the field, members of the delegation were introduced by EHO’s representatives to project activities and working methodology and learned more about the integration process by meeting locals.
The delegation gave a positive response to the visit, and appreciated EHO’s commitment to boost social inclusion in Serbia.
