On the 20th of August, our Italian member Diaconia Valdese (Waldensian Diaconia) held the eighth edition of ‘’Frontiere Diaconali’’ (Diaconal Frontiers) in Torre Pellice, Turin.
The event was organized by the Synodal Commission for Diaconia-CSD, and was an occasion to present the latest issue of the magazine “I Quaderni della Diaconia”, as well as to discuss and to exchange ideas on fighting violence against women.
A presentation of the current work of the organisation was given by CSD Vice-President Victoria Munsey, followed by a theological reflection on gender violence by Reverend Maria Bonafede. During the meeting Mrs Alessandra Mattiola and Anna Giampiccoli had also the chance to present the latest results of CSD’s projects.
Particularly inspiring the presentation of Mrs Graziella Scalzo, Coordinator of Associazione Pellegrino della Terra, fighting women trafficking in Sicily.
