Next month, our partner COFACE Families Europe will host a high-level seminar on Economics at the service of society in Brussels.
The conference will take place from the 22-23 November and it is aimed at learning more about the current economic models in order to translate ideas into practice and make a difference in the lives of European citizens.
The seminar will be split into three parts:
– The first part will look at the state of play of the economic and financial system. Where are we now? How did we get here? What are the problems we are struggling with? Where are we heading? What are the implications for civil society and social policies?
– The second part will examine concrete measures at the local/micro-economic level and how these measures impact people directly, bridging macro-economic policy orientations with social policy measures on the ground.
– The third part will explore innovative and groundbreaking solutions that could revolutionize our current economic systems for better or for worse.
The seminar is open to anyone interested in learning more about how economics can support new social policy models.
Rebalancing European policies to ensure the promotion not only of economic growth but also of social inclusion and fairness is key for Eurodiaconia because it would ensure that no one is left behind. Thus Eurodiaconia supports the further streamlining of the European Pillar of Social Rights principle in the European economic governance in order to truly foster fair economic systems.
