syrian refugees in armenia 2Our member Armenia Round Table Foundation and the Centre for Continuing Education of National Polytechnic University of Armenia recently organised the graduation ceremony for the trainees of a six-month course in programming and web-design.

Those trainings, organised within the scope of the “Workforce development initiative” project implemented by Armenia Round Table Foundation with the financial support of the Norwegian Church Aid, aimed at improving the livelihood and employment opportunities of Syrian refugees in Armenia.

The event brought together representatives of international, local organisations and businesses that may become potential employers of the graduates.

Out of twenty-one students who successfully completed the course of Web Design and Programming, seven have already secured employment. The rest will enter the labour market equipped with good starting skills in one of the most demanded professions not only in Armenia, but worldwide.
