On the 18th of November our Italian member Diaconia Valdese held a webinar in the context of the dissemination activities for “PPI: Private Sponsorship for integration – building a European model“, a project implemented in partnership with Eurodiaconia, and funded by DG Home’s AMIF programme. The purpose of the webinar was to illustrate the methods of construction and implementation of the Humanitarian Corridors model.
The virtual conference was aimed at outlining the ways in which similar programmes can be implemented, and at explaining some key elements to the audience of potentially interested partners.
The agenda for the event included:
- a presentation by the funding body Tavola Valdese on the motivations behind the project support, actions to make the project implementation possible, challenges and victories of the model;
- presentation by Commissione Sinodale per la Diaconia, which deals with reception, on the importance of the project for the organisation;
- presentation by Commissione Sinodale per la Diaconia, which deals with reception, on the intervention by the coordinator of the Humanitarian Corridors teams on how the reception projects are organized; strengths and weaknesses of their work;
- presentation by one beneficiary of the project on the positive impact of the program on people’s lives and on their professional and academic careers;
- Q&A session;
The event was attended by other Italian social entities (both public authorities and private sector organisations), universities, research centers and civil society bodies with which Diaconia Vladese cooperates.
