Over the past few years a growing number of people have been excluded from housing.
Some groups within the population such as migrants, children and pensioners are reported to be particularly affected. To explore these issues, and the work carried out so far, Eurodiaconia updated its policy paper entitled “Homelessness and Housing Exclusion”. The paper outlines the key challenges the EU and the Member States have to face in the years to come with a specific focus on the essential role of coordinated EU actions on homelessness. The paper makes recommendations to the EU and national governments to review national policies, actions and gaps in fighting housing exclusion.
The draft policy paper was sent to members for consultation and the final version was approved at the last meeting of Eurodiaconia’s Supervisory Board.
