On the 3rd and 4th of October, violent storms and flooding hit southeastern France, killing at least 17 and causing major damage. The damage included flooded ground floor stores and apartment building lobbies, along with hospitals and social centers.
The care-home ‘Les Gabres’’ which now hosts in Cannes 231 elderly residents and disabled people has been greatly affected and the damage is believed to be several hundred thousand euros-worth. Despite the decree of natural disaster, the Association must bear part of the financial cost.
The AOAPAR, active member of the Fédération de l’Entraide Protestante, is seeking financial support to get through a difficult time and regain financial stability shaken by this natural disaster.
