In December Eurodiaconia met with a group of students from the Network of Christian Special Colleges (Roma Collegium) which operate in 5 cities in Hungary. The group came to Brussels to learn more about the EU and the work of a number of EU level organisations including Eurodiaconia. The visit organised together with our member the Reformed Church of Hungary who run one of the colleges the ‘Istvan Wali Special College’. The Network is made up of 5 schools and provides a community and opportunities particularly for Roma students, providing scholarships, social activities, as well as volunteering opportunities and community service. The special colleges aim to explore values of the Christian life as well as Roma culture and identity and encourages the Roma students to find their value and place in the world.
