The European Commission has made available a tool to explore data on European Structural and Investment Funds.

The European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds) are made available for strengthening member states’ economies and achieving European goals, and are jointly managed by the European Commission and the EU countries through partnership agreements.

The purpose of these funds is to invest in job creation and a sustainable and healthy European economy and environment, focusing especially on research and innovation, digital technologies, supporting the low-carbon economy, sustainable management of natural resources and small businesses.

The funds included in the ESI Funds are the European regional development fund (ERDF), the European social fund (ESF), Cohesion fund (CF), the European agricultural fund for rural development (EAFRD) and the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF).

The European Commission Tool on ESI Funds gives access to data on financing and achievements under the ESI Funds 2014-2020. You can explore progress in delivering investments at an overall EU level, but also by:

  • fund
  • major theme
  • country

Datasets can be viewed online, or downloaded to analyse.

You can explore the data available on the European Structural and Investment Funds, as well as more information on the specific ESI Funds, via the European Commission website.
