Child poverty has increased following the financial and economic crisis in a number of countries, where children and families have been hit particularly badly by the crisis. To respond to these needs, Eurodiaconia members provide services to hundreds of thousands of people in need across Europe. Amongst them, they provide a wide range of child-related services such as families support centres, children’s homes, youth work services, after-school programmes, child protection, counselling and many other social services impacting on children and families.
Eurodiaconia is also an active member of the EU Alliance for Investing in Children which brings together over 20 European networks, sharing a commitment to end child poverty and to promote child well-being across Europe.
For more information on Eurodiaconia’s work on child poverty and social exclusion, please read Eurodiaconia’s policy position here or contact our Policy and Membership Development Officer Magdalena Bordagorry at magdalena.bordagorry@eurodiaconia.org.
